2025 Weather Review

The Glasgow National Weather Service has compiled the statistics from 2025 in Glasgow.

2025 was the 19th warmest year on record, going back to 1948. The average temperature for the year was 44.8 degrees.

The high temperature of the year was 101 degrees, 12 degrees off the record from 1900. The lowest temperature recorded was -31, which was 18 degrees warmer than the record of -59 in 1936.

Two notable storms affected Glasgow this past year: a severe thunderstorm on June 15th and a blizzard on December 17th.

That severe thunderstorm on June 15th produced a wind gust of 71mph and half dollar sized hail. That wind gust broke the record for the highest gust recorded in June.

The blizzard on December 17th produced a wind gust of 78mph, which broke the record for the highest December wind gust.

Total precipitation for 2025 was 13.45, one hundredth ahead of the average. Total snowfall for the year was right at 41 inches, .3 above normal. 25.9 inches of that snow fell in November and December. The annual precipitation record is 22.96 inches, set in 2011. The snowfall record is also from that year: 93.4 inches.

Other records of note:
– March was the 6th warmest March on record
– April was the driest since 1984 (.01)
– June 22nd was unusually cold: the high was only 55, the coldest June high since 2009.

Spring was the 7th warmest on record, and the driest since 2017

Summer was the coolest and wettest summer since 2019. July and August only had one day each with triple digit temperatures.

Fall was the fifth warmest on record.

December 2025 was the wettest December on record, with 1.72″ of precipitation. December 11th was the wettest December day on record, with .94″ of precipitation, and 7.5 inches of snow.

Scottie Basketball Squads Split With Harlem

The Scottie basketball teams were in action last night against the visiting Harlem Wildcats in 2B conference games. In the girl’s game Joely Chappell led the Scotties with 28 and Mayzie Yoakam added 17 as the Scottie girls ran away to a 72 – 31 win. The win keeps the Scottie girls unbeaten in the season. Aubri Flying led the Wildcat attack with 8.

The Scottie boys lost a tough game to the Wildcats 59-56. Harlem jumped out to an 18 – 12 first-quarter lead and led throughout the contest. The Scotties did tie the score during the fourth quarter, but Harlem regained the lead and held off the Scotties. The Hudyma brothers, Colt and Cade, led the Scottie Scoring attack with 19 and 15 points, respectively. Cody McCabe led all scoring with 23.

The Scotties will be in action at home this coming weekend as they host Poplar on Friday (Super Hero Night) and then Malta on Saturday.

Scottie Wrestlers 10th, 11th

The Scottie wrestlers were in Bozeman and Belgrade this weekend. The boys were competing at the Tom LeProwse Invitational in Bozeman. They finished in 10th place overall. Individually for the Scotties: Saunten Gamas was 4th @ 126 Cody Kuka 6th @138 Khye Gamas 3rd @ 157 William Kirkland 5th @ 165

For the girls, they were at the MT Super 14 tournament in Belgrade. The girls finished in 11th place. Individually for the Scottie girls: Madison Lamb 2nd @ 135 Hannah Holinde 5th @ 190 The wrestlers will be in Bismarck this upcoming weekend.

Scottie Wrestling Results

Day 1 At the Girls MT Super 14 Wrestling Tournament in Belgrade, the Scottie girls were 6th out of 42 schools with 80 points after Friday’s action. Madison Lamb and Hannah Holinde are in the Semifinals. Lana Mason, Chloe Lamb, Avery Pedersen, & Aubree Holinde are still alive on the Consolation side.

At the Boys Tom Leprowse Invitational in Bozeman, the Scottie Boys were sitting in 11th place out of 43 schools with 79.5 points.

Khye Gamas and Cody Kuka are in the Semifinals. Saunten Gamas, Tyler King, & William Kirkland are still alive on the Consolation side.

Scottie Boys Earn Conference Win In Plentywood

The Scottie boys outscored the Wildcats 22-4 in the fourth quarter on Friday night to break open the game, and coasted to a 63-36 win.

Top individual scorers: Cade Hudyma 18, Colt Hudyma 12, Grady Nielsen 12.

The boys are back in action Saturday afternoon, hosting Harlem in another conference match-up. The varsity game is set to start at approximately 5:30 p.m. on KLTZ.

Scottie Girls Continue Unbeaten Streak

The Scottie girls topped Plentywood last Friday night.

The Scottie girls continued their winning streak into 2026, with a 56-15 win in Plentywood on Friday night. The girls held Plentywood to just 3 points in the first half.

Montana Big Sky Class B All-Star Rosters Released

Rosters for the 37th Montana Big Sky Class B All-Star football game have been announced.

State champion Manhattan will have three players on the South roster: Brady Toner, Kyler Bailey and Mason Reynolds. Glasgow, with six players on the primary North roster, has the largest representation of any school.

The South won last year’s game 22-0 to even the all-time series at 18-18.

The North team is comprised of players from the Northern B and Western B divisions, while the South is made up of players from the Southern B and Eastern B.

The 2026 game will be played on Saturday, June 13, in Red Lodge.

Miles City Firefighters were working an active residential fire at the intersection of N. Montana Ave. and Palmer Street. The residents were all accounted for, according to the Miles City Fire Department.
